For those who live in Las Vegas, calling the sprawling metropolis Sin City is an insult.

Sin City is mostly known for its gambling, showgirls and booze on Las Vegas.

The term was used in the 1900s before the Nevada Legislature was formed in 1909.

In the 1906s, Las Vegas was a water railroad stop between Lake City and Los Angeles.

Today hotels, casinos, gambling dens, prostitution had been established here.

Block 16 and Block 17 which were notorious places for gambling, drinking and prostitution.

Mostly all illegal things were found here including prostitution.

The authorities had allowed the establishments to continue because it was a source of revenue.

In 1942, the army eliminated prostitution from Block 16.
